What is CHIP?

CHIP is a registered Canadian charity based in Toronto. CHIP offers financial support to hospitalized patients unable to pay for basic communications services, such as the telephone and the Internet. CHIP’s unique goal is to provide solutions for these practical problems.

CHIP was started by a family to assist families in need.  When loved ones are going through physical and emotional stress as the result of an illness, they require all of the help and support they can get. CHIP wants to make sure no patients are left behind.

Many patients fighting illnesses are not able to continue in the workplace and rely on limited or partial income to carry on. When patients have depleted their personal finances and can no longer afford basic communication devices, such as: a phone, a TV, or the Internet - CHIP is there to help.

CHIP adheres to a Donor Bill of Rights - accountability, transparency, and integrity form the pillars of the organization. To maximize patient assistance, CHIP’s Board of Directors and all who assist in the daily operations of the charity, are volunteers.

The voices of those who require our help have been heard and CHIP has responded. Patients in need will be better off because of your generosity - so please give generously and support CHIP’s work!
